Tests for Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) and MOTT infections
Auroprobe Laboratories started its commercial operations in April 2000, with a single test, PCR for Mycobacterium tuberculosis (AURO-TB-PCR-1). PCR assays used in India so far were based upon protocols & kits developed abroad. The experience with these protocols or kits was not up to expectations because of a different genetic make-up of Indian strains of MTB. Keeping that in mind, Auroprobe Laboratories developed a PCR for Tuberculosis to pickup clinical isolates OF MTB of Indian origin. Acceptance of this assay by the doctors was above the expectations.
